Appeal against Refusal for Six Flats at 273 Northfield Avenue / Wellington Road

Following representations from EFRA and local residents, Ealing Council's Planning Committee unanimously rejected this application in August 2014. The proposal was for the conversion of an existing family home into four self contained units plus the construction of two self contained units in the rear garden on the site of a garage.

Change of Use 222-224 Northfield Avenue, backing onto Belsize Avenue

In April 2015 EFRA objected to the application for a change of use for the ground floor, basement and rear yard at 222-224 Northfield Avenue. In 2013 and 2014 the unauthorised use of this site as a café and late night party venue by the then occupiers of the ground and basement floors resulted in repeated disruption for residents in Belsize Avenue, leading to the involvement of council officers. Our concerns centre around avoiding a repeat of this nuisance to neighbours including those in the recently converted flats on the upper floors of the building.

Application for Side Extensions to the Ealing Christian Centre in Northfield Avenue, formerly the Avenue Cinema

In April 2015 EFRA objected to the proposed extension and infills to the Ealing Christian Centre. We are not against the principle of an infill on the north-west frontage of the building, nor are we opposed to a roof extension providing that it would be invisible from street level and not detract from the building's heritage design features. However we would like to see proposals of a high architectural quality which respect the exterior of this Grade II* listed building.

Rear extension 282 Northfield Avenue and Blondin Avenue

EFRA commented on a planning application for a first floor rear extension filling the full depth of the rear yard and existing ground floor extension behind 282 Northfield Avenue (near the junction with Blondin Avenue).

Electricity Cable Works in Little Ealing Lane

Work being carried out by J Murphy and Sons on behalf of Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution resumed after Easter.

To avoid major congestion in the area, some roads leading off Little Ealing Lane will be closed and local diversions put in place as the work progresses. There will be a requirement to use multi way temporary lights at the junctions at either end of the road. However, this work will be carried out at weekends in the case of the South Ealing Road junction and school holiday periods or weekends for the Windmill Road junction.
