Appeal against Refusal for Six Flats at 273 Northfield Avenue / Wellington Road
Following representations from EFRA and local residents, Ealing Council's Planning Committee unanimously rejected this application in August 2014. The proposal was for the conversion of an existing family home into four self contained units plus the construction of two self contained units in the rear garden on the site of a garage.
The applicant has now appealed, citing the development around 10 years ago behind 261 Northfield Avenue (corner of Bramley Road) as a precedent. This means all the paperwork will go to a government planning inspector and that all parties may make submissions. EFRA reviewed the Northfield Avenue/Bramley Road development planning file and established there are a number of differences between what happened there and the proposal for Wellington Road. Therefore EFRA has written to the planning inspector asking him to refuse the appeal, pointing out the differences between the two developments and re-iterating objections made earlier about density, the building line, amenity space etc.
