Cannabis factory awareness

Organized crime gangs target private houses and other buildings advertised for letting purposes. 'Clients' may offer to pay many months' rent in advance in cash as well as a cash deposit.  Private houses are then converted into cannabis factories.  Heating, lighting, ventilation and hydroponic equipment are brought into the premises and very often structural damage is caused to the building in order to vent away heat and fumes.

The Metropolitan Police and your local Safer Neighbourhood Team of officers are determined to stop this kind of criminal activity and to this end the Met has created a 'Drug Lorry' to be used as an educational tool.  The lorry has a purpose built 'mock cannabis factory', complete with heating, lighting and ventilation units etc.  The idea is for local residents to take a look through the unit and leave with a basic understanding of what to look for in their locality.

You are invited to attend the site and look through the Drug Lorry and speak to the officers.  General crime prevention advice will be available.
