Motorbike Training: Update

For some time EFRA has been supporting residents in Belsize Avenue, Jefferson Close and Mayo Court suffering from noise from motorbike training in the Orion Park car park.

Following an appeal by the operator against planning enforcement action by Ealing Council, in May 2014 a Government Planning Inspector said that:

1) No motorcycle training shall take place outside of the building at any time.

2) The use shall not take place, and there shall be no collection of motorcycles, mopeds or equipment, other than between 0730 – 1900 hours Mondays - Saturdays.

The full text of his report is here on our website.

On 24 June the council issued two Breach of Condition notices and gave the operator 30 days to comply with the conditions. Further breaches were witnessed and photographed by EFRA and neighbouring residents, so on 14 August the council obtained an Injunction in the High Court.

We are pleased that Monday to Saturday daytime motorbike training in the Orion Park car park appears to have ceased. We are concerned that the operator may be continuing to open and use the site on Sundays, in breach of planning condition 2 above. It would be helpful if details of any breaches could be emailed to us at: contact@efra.org.uk.  A copy of the notice is here on our website.

During the summer the operator applied for planning permission to relax the Planning Inspector’s Condition 1. EFRA submitted an objection to this new application and you can read the full text here.
