Orion Park: Bike Training Facility

Motorbike training continues to take place in the open areas of the Orion Park site.  The operator appealed against the council's latest planning enforcement notice to put a stop to the training which does not have planning approval.  The matter is back with the Planning Inspectorate again.  EFRA is working with local residents and councillors, and submitted a detailed statement to the Planning Inspectorate in January 2014, a summary of which you can see h

Cranmer Avenue Snooker Hall

The council turned down the latest application to overdevelop this site.

The proposals were out of keeping with this residential side street and were equivalent to a householder constructing a two-storey extension in the front garden with full-height front windows and Juliet balconies facing directly into the houses on the opposite side of the street.

Northfield Safer Neighbourhood December 2013 Newsletter

The Northfields Safer Neighbourhood Team recently circulated its December 2013 monthly newsletter.  For those not on the mailing list, we have uploaded a copy onto our website which you can see here.  It gives details of crime trends in the area including residential burglary, theft of and from motor vehicles and also gives dates for drop-in surgeries which give you a chance to pop in to the ward base and speak to a member of the team.

Assyrian Centre in South Ealing Road

EFRA commented on a slightly revised application to redevelop the Assyrian Centre in South Ealing Road, just outside EFRA's area.  We do not usually comment on matters beyond our borders but it is a local landmark and the scale of the proposal has implications for the amenity of our members and their neighbours.  Our objection, submitted to Ealing Council in November 2013, repeats the concerns set out in our earlier objection and contains expanded comments on transport, servicing, parking and the applicant’s desire for a permanent licence.
