Orion Park: Bike Training Facility
For some years now, Get Bike has been running training classes for motor cyclists at Orion Park opposite Northfields tube station. Following investigative work by EFRA members in Belsize Avenue and Jefferson Close, the Council acknowledged that Get Bike did not have planning permission for the training of motor cyclists in the car park at Orion Park. Consequently Get Bike has now submitted a planning application seeking permission to use the site for motor cycle training.
EFRA has a number of concerns about the operation of the site for motor cycle training. Residents on the south side of Belsize Avenue and Jefferson Close have to endure the noise created by the motor cycles from as early as 7am for seven days a week.
Residents whose houses and gardens back onto the site claim that they cannot use their gardens because of the noise nuisance. Leaving windows open in the warm weather is also problematic given the noise levels generated by the training.
After listening to the views of residents and reviewing previous planning application documents, EFRA objected to the application. Click here to see the full text of our response.
