Proposed Conversion of House in Overdale Road to Two Flats

In October 2014 EFRA objected to a planning application to convert 12 Overdale Road into two flats with rear extension which would, if allowed, set a precedent for all of us who live in the roads of near identical modest terraced housing constructed by A J Taylor in the years immediately before the First World War.

The main grounds for objection included non conformity with the London Plan and Ealing planning policies; not being in keeping with the local character of the road which has it has retained over its one hundred year existence; no outdoor amenity space for the first/second floor flat; inadequate wheelchair access for certain rooms; unacceptable daylight from proposed lightwell for the rear ground floor bedroom.

Following our objection and objections from local residents, and with support from our one of our ward councillors, the application was deferred from its original Planning Committee to the meeting on Wednesday 17 December. There will be a site visit on Saturday 13 December.
