Local History
Little Ealing History published the book An American President in Ealing: The John Quincy Adams Diaries 1815-1817. See the Local History page for more information.
The ward forum is an opportunity to meet and question our ward councillors and have your say on the local issues that are important to you. Details of past meetings and dates for future meetings are on the Ealing Council web site.
Note that the forum is at Mount Carmel School, not at the South Ealing Mission Hall as stated in our e-newsletter.
Each year Ealing Civic Society makes awards to recognise and encourage building and environmental projects that make a noteworthy contribution to the community in the London Borough of Ealing. The winners receive a certificate and may display a Society plaque commemorating the award.
At their meeting on 30 June, Ealing Council Planning Committee approved the application to develop Pickering House by adding six extra flats within the extended roof space. The committee's discussions and decision are in the meeting minutes on the council web site.
EFRA had supported local residents in opposing the application.
The Log Cabin is holding a 30th anniversary party on Saturday 17 July from 1 to 4 pm.
The event will be attended by the mayor and local MPs and there will be lots of games and competitions with prizes, activities for children, a barbecue, refreshments, music, a licensed bar etc. Entry is free and your support would be welcome.
